Transportation

The St. Petersburg Pulkovo Airport is placed on two sites, which carry out the whole complex of domestic and international transportation services. The close location of the sites makes the Pulkovo Airport attractive for transit to other cities in Russia via St. Petersburg.

River passenger terminal

Public transportation system

St. Petersburg has a well-developed public transportation system including buses, street cars, trolleybuses and the Metro system.

Serface transport

Operates from 6.00 till 24.00. Fare is collected through the sale of special tickets. These tickets can be obtained in the vehicle from conductors.

The Metro System

There are 57 underground stations in St. Petersburg, forming 4 lines of the Metro System. The Metro operates from 5.45 till 24.00. Line transfers stop at 00.10. Fare is paid by special tokens which are valid for one trip regardless of its duration and number of changes from one line to another or by magnetic cards available at all Metro stations.

Taxies

Taxies can be recognized by the checkered stripes and the letter "T" on the car door, or the enlighten sign "Taxi" on the roof.
Taxi may be ordered from a hotel or may be hailed in the street. The payment should be done according to a meter. You may order taxi round-the-clock. Tel.: 068, 312-0022.
